5 BEING THE BEST
Rated "5" by Jeremy Bostwick
Last night I was at the nearly sold out Tom Petty concert at Charlotte, NC. It was a great show, Tom and the Heart Breakers were awesome. They came out at 9 o'clock and opened with Listen To Her Heart and then Free Fallin. He played all of his greatest hits plus a few new songs and two covers, including Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well".
Tom introduced Stevie half way thru the show as their soul sister. She came out with great applause and looking amazing. She wore the same outfit as she did during Edge of Seventeen on her Gold Dust Tour and on the Today Show. Stevie's performance on Stop Draggin My Heart Around and I Need To Know was amazing. She told everyone how honored Tom asked her to tour with them and how nervous she was. She left the stage and Tom and the band did a few acoustic songs. Stevie came back out wearing a black dress with a pink shaw and they gave us a surprise performance of Insider, a song they said, haven't done in 25 years. Stevie remained on stage and sang back up and tambourine for Learning To Fly and Don't Come Around Here No More.
Stevie came back on stage during the encore to close the show by singing back up for American Girl, she changed once again. I guess thats why she has been called the Rock and Roll Dolly Parton. She wore the same outfit she did for "Rock and Roll", the black rhinestone pants and top hat with the huge feather. Over all, the show was great, this was the first time I've seen Tom and the Heartbreakers.
Stevie added a lot to the show and was received very well by the audience. I have seen Stevie many times, and her stage presents is always amazing. Hopefully Stevie will continue to be as active as she has been. I look forward to more SOLO tours!

Just got in from the Tom Petty show in Charlotte.
She sang lead vocals on Stop Draggin My Heart Around and I Need To Know. She sang duet on Insider, pretty much just the way we know of the song from 25 years ago. Tom said it was the first time they'd performed the song in 25 years. She came out towards the middle of the show (Tom introduced her as "our soul sister Stevie Nicks") and sang Stop Draggin and I Need to Know. She came back after one song to perform Insider, then she was relegated to the rear of the stage to do backup duty on Learnin to Fly and Don't Come Around, after which she promptly ran off stage lol. She came back for the last encore, American Girl.
Her outfits were great, she first came out in with a white multilayered skirt with a TIGHT black top and a really neat textured sheer long coat thingy lol. It was probably one of the best outfits I've seen her in in a long time. She came back out for insider with an all black dress with this super tight white top thingy, and had on this beautiful white shawl, kinda reminiscent of the one she wore during Goodbye Baby during the Say You Will tour. When she came out for American girl she had on black pants, a layered black top, a black top hat complete with huge white ostrich feathers- basically her outfit from Rock and Roll from her tour last summer. And that's all folks .
Oh yeah... and DUH!!! Tom did a set of two songs he said influenced the band when they were little boys... one of which was Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well
She looked and sounded amazing. Her hair has gotten really long, almost to her waist. You guys have gotta go see this show if you can make it to one!
