5 BEING THE BEST
Rated "5" by Jim aka "jcalzaretta"
This was my 13th time seeing Stevie on stage. I went with my best friend and it was his first time. But he loved the music on Crystal Visions, he loves FM and he loved the Lindsey show we went to. The set list was moved around a bit. Sorcerer happened after I Need to Know and stuff just moved accordingly.
She opened with Standback which was great - it certainly got the crowd up. I can say - the floor seats stood the entire show. Dreams was great and it was nice to see everyone singing along.
If Anyone Falls in Love - was good. My buddy loved it. The music was good. I think this is a tough song to sing live and I just think it could have been better than it was.
Enchanted was OK. She did not sing it with the energy that I thought it needed.
Rhiannon - nice piano intro before piano intro. I like the two verse piano intro better. Good version. Nothing spectacular but great nonetheless.
I Need to Know - outstanding as usual.
Sorcerer - Way outstanding. Wow. So great. And nice to see people around singing and recognizing it.
Gold Dust Woman - WOW - totally amazing. Showcased band really well. Best song of the night.
Landslide - my buddy said best song of the night. I though beautiful. Back to basics on this one and it sounded great.
Fall From Grace - wow. This song kicks butt. It rocks. She rocks. Totally amazing song and people loved it. it was nice to see the two new songs being two of more popular songs.
How Still My Love. I was nervous about this and was so amazed by it. It was so incredible. One of the best of the night
Edge of 17. Good - nothing too spectacular but good. She did sing her part at the end - she said somewhere deep in the middle of the night baby - I think about you. So I loved that part.
Rock n Roll - she sings it well for sure. Not sure why it is in her set list when she has her own stuff.
Beauty and the Beast - good. I think I would rather have HAEWAFY.
In summary. Her voice was outstanding. The music was great. The backup singers were spot on. She is 59 and going so strong. She certainly is one amazing woman. I cannot wait to see her again. She is by far the queen of rock and roll. Nobody can out do her. Not sure why she is not in rock and roll hall of fame yet. Really amazes me when you think about the career she has had and the songs she has written.
I do wish that Rock n Roll was replaced. Since she did not come to the Chicago Tom Petty shows, I was hoping for Tom and an encore of SDMHA. Or maybe if no Tom, then Rooms on Fire. She needs to sing her own stuff.
