5 BEING THE BEST
Rated "5" by Brian
I have to say 5 is not the best way to describe this concert. It was a big fat 10. Seeing Lindsey with Fleetwood Mac is great and memorable. On his own is whole other animal. He is amazing all the way around. He can take songs like I'm so Afraid and put a different twist on it and have it still be memorable. I remember when I saw him on The Dance show on tv when he did Big Love and I said wow I was blown away then and I am mesmerized now. This man can flat out play and keep up with the greats. The song selection for the set list was memorable making new memories of the new stuff and returning to the past with live staples like Go Your Own Way, Second Hand News Tusk and throwing at you songs rarely played on stage like I Know I'm Not Wrong, Save Me a Place and the big surprise of live rarities was Holiday Road which should conjure up images of Clark Griswald taking his family on ascrewballl trip accross America.
As for guitar playing even from where I sat 10 rows from the stage I could see the fingers moving lighting fast rather using 2 fingers or all 4 it was amazing. Now I have seen and heard some great guitar players from Clapton, Joe Perry, Pete Townsend and Mark Knopfler but no one is in the same country as Lindsey Buckingham he has a style all his own to match his own magic of music making. He is one of the most underrated guitar players in history especially playing in band that was co founded by the great Peter Green. But he is on my list at the top of my all time favorite guitar players.
It was a thrill a minute and one concert that rates up with the Beach Boys at Mile High 1993, and Sir Paul McCartney at Pepsi in 2002.
I thank u Lindsey for some of the greatest music in history and some of the most fun going to a concert are singing your lungs out driving down the road.
