5 BEING THE BEST

Rated "5" by Mark

I heard that Lindsey was playing at Harrahs on Tuesday the 9th. I checked the LB website and found that he was also playing in Turlock on Friday. That show had very few seats available, so i decided (after calling my wife to make sure she was up for it) to go for the Saturday night show in Tahoe.

What a nice venue for a show! I would guess there was 800- 1,000 seats. We had seats off to the right about 60 feet from Lindsey. I was very excited after being a big LB fan for years. I saw FM at the Cow Palace in S.F. on the Tusk tour and was mesmerized by the complete showman that Lindsey was. He is better now.

He started (as you know) with "Not Too Late" which was fantastic. His guitar technique is simply amazing to witness. "Trouble" has always been one of my favorites and I'm not ashamed to say it made me cry. I cried more than once, by the way. I don't want to name each song, but they were all terrific. I was so happy that the crowd was as enthusiatic as I was and generous with their standing ovations, of which there were many. Lindsey is, to me, clearly a person who cares deeply about what he is singing about and how he is performing. His genuine appreciation for the reception was not unnoticed and it made me happy to see him get the applause he deserves.

I do want to mention that being able to see LB perform "Big Love" in person was a moment i'll never forget. Amazing!

Additionally i want to say that "It Was You" was a joy to see Lindsey perform. It was a celebration of His love of his wife and family and his undeniable happiness in his life now. I again cried each time he would throw his hand in the air as he sang each of his children's names. He's a good dad.

Finally, i wanted to mention that my wife went to the concert because i wanted to go. Since Saturday she's been toting "Under The Skin" with her pretty much everywhere she goes.

It was a great night. It didn't even matter that it was 5 degrees when we went out to drive home. As someone said at the show after Lindsey said "Thank you." to the audience: "No, Lindsey, THANK YOU!"
