When I heard that Stevie was going to play Vegas, I thought "It's about time! WELL overdue." I mean, "the king of rock" had his time there and "the queen's" day finally came. My best friend and I were absolutely excited beyond reason and booked our flight, hotel room, etc the day we found out about the shows. So off we flew across the country, me thinking about the possiblities of the Stevie/Vegas show that she's verbally promised: dancers, costumes, special effects, possibly opening with "Talk to Me". Meg (my best friend) and I "dressed to the nines" to see our favorite singer of all time...after all this is our 15th time seeing Stevie live. Stevie NEVER disappoints...unless she plays Vegas.

Instantly, I was like "are we in 2001 again?" because of "Bootylicious" blaring on the loud speakers - this was great for the Trouble in Shangri-La tour...5 years ago, when it showed Stevie's collaboration (inspiration lasts always) with younger artist THEN.

Then she comes out. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING from head to toe. The outfit was beautiful, especially the top. I was praying she wouldn't wear the granny cardigan (black with pearl buttons) from the FM Say You Will Tour and she didn't. The outfit was stunning. However...the Reeboks gotta go. She's still Stevie Nicks without the boots but they ARE a trademark. Whats next? The shawls? Who needs plastic surgery with a face like that? She was georgeous.

She opened with "Enchanted"...I thought that tour was in 1998? At least she didn't open with "Outside/Dreams", as Waddy would most likely say. I guess my heart was set on an opener we'd never heard before (Talk to Me - although she says it is hard for her to sing) "Rooms on Fire" anybody?

Of course the Fleetwood Mac Songs were beautiful and it was awesome to hear "How Still My Love", "Beauty and the Beast" and others we haven't heard in a while. Although the set could've featured more of her true hits...look at the charts. BTW - "I Need To Know" needs to go.

As for the techincal/special effects...I was SEVERELY disappointed. Anybody can throw up a screen and show old footage and lower a few sparse backdrops - but this is STEVIE NICKS, the QUEEN of rock. I mean, listen to the lyrics. There is so much you could do with each of those to make them Vegas/theatrical because they're so dramatic! There was a SERIOUS lack of creativity going on here. Granted it was a 5 night engagement...hopefully her next set will be as incredible as the "Enchanted" & "Trouble" sets. No dancers. No special guests (where was Tom & Don, Sheryl?), No special effects. No boots. No Trademark Stevie dance moves/gestures/spins. And I PRAY that the merchandise for the next tour is better than the last 2. How about a few posters of our lady, huh?

My own highlights aside from the obvious were: her voice (SO CLEAR AND AWESOME!!), Lori Nicks (WELCOME back! We so missed you & love you!), Stand Back (always a thrill!), Sorcerer, Beauty, How Still (my favs!), and of course the dedicated fans interaction with each other. Always GREAT to see everyone!

Last Point. I LOVE Stevie Nicks. She is, for me, the greatest singer alive and one heck of an entertainer. I'd go see her on a bare stage anyhow. But if you're gonna promise me "vegas", give me "vegas". For someone as reknowned, beloved and legendary as Stevie, having an unspectacular Vegas show was disappointing to fans who were expecting a true Vegas show. I pray to God she doesn't settle into age, but rather goes out with a bang one day like Tina Turner. This show was just a regular Stevie Nicks concert, which, to those of us dedicated fans who appreciate every single aspect about her, is enough. And of course, I already have my Gold Dust Tour tix!

May 10th. 6th Row. Orch 3. My heart was racing. She comes out, and I am beside myself w/ glee. All this build up and anticipation. Enchanted. Such a rocker. She was in good form but I felt she was being very reserved. I think she was nervous and it showed. IAF was a great come back set song. Not a fav live or otherwise, but I was ecstatic hearing it again, especially w/ Lori backing up the song (although I always hear Sharon's voice shine thru the most.) Waddy rocked SDMHA, although I think he too was trying a bit harder than normal to sound the part of Tom as opposed to Waddy singing the song. How Still My Love is a blur, because right when it ended the front of the stage was being bombarded by fans for an EO17 opportunity. All I knew is that I HAD to get my ass up there. So after some hassle w/ the security, I get up there, and OMG! There she is right in front of me. She looks SO amazing. Then INTK, yea...ok I've seen it before. LOL

Beauty & the Beast. Being a HUGE fan of the movie & the song I went postal. Coming out in that amazing black cloak, in perfect unison with Josette Day was the most breath taking image I've experienced at a Stevie show. The love and depth Stevie proceeded to pour into the song should make a fan out of even the most hardened non-Stevie fan. Flawless. At that precise moment I realized how grateful I was to be there for all 4 nights!

After the show, I met Lori Nicks, and had the picture taken of us by Machito Sanchez. My new tagline is when Machito asked how to use the digital camera, I said "Just look through the hole and shoot." He says, "Yea I get that all the time." As all this is being said, I kind get red from the direction I just gave Machito, Lori is giggling, and then Machito makes some comment about a picture of 5 beautiful women. (Was myself, Tiffany and 2 other Ledge girls & Lori.) We told Lori how grateful we were to have her on this special engagement, and hoped she'd be making more appearances live. She was very humble, and seemed very polite, and enjoyed fan's taking notice of her return.

This was one of the best concerts I have ever seen! Stevie looked and sounded amazing. The few people who disagreed needs to clean out their ears, they have no idea what their talking about. Stevie had a lot of energy and seemed to be having a lot of fun.

The show was kind of disapointing only because it was just like a regular concert. I enjoyed hearing How Still My Love and Beauty and the Beast. If Anyone Falls was good too, but didn't play well live. I expected and would have rather heard Talk to Me. I liked the version of Landslide she played. It was a vocal harmony with Sharon, Jana, and Lori Nicks. I surprised to see Lori singing with Stevie on a few of the songs. When I first saw her, I thought for sure they would do Night Bird, but again another dissapointment. Over all it was an amazing show and I can't wait to see her on the 13th.

I am some what disappointed, the show was songs she has always done, where was Highway Man ( I'll forgive this ,with what Mr. Henley has been doing and saying) The stage set was a bit confusing were those lace curtains supposed to be snow covered montains during Landslide? What was going on during Outside The Rin on the screen? And where was the "Steve video of her though out career ?

She should have hired someone other than her brother to put this show together. I will say the doves in Edge Of Seventeen was great, The high point, Beauty And The Beast! I have seen every tour she has done since she joind Fleetwood Mac. I think this show should have been special! She did sound great her voice was strong and no croaking and wobbling. But she did not take advantage of the stage nor the chance to give her hard core fans something completly different, This is just my opinion. IIf i had known it was just a rehashing of the same songs i probably would have passed, sorry if this is sloppy I have jet lag.

Stevie is overweight and her voice is worsening. I saw her in Nashville last year -- her voice seems three times worse. She can not hit any high note. I love Stevie but she needs to shape up.

I'm sure other leggies will give you the rest of the set list. Hopefully the other shows will be better. I'm going again tonight -- hopefully I'll get my moneys worth tonight. Stevie also did the best version of Dreams I have ever seen and that is saying something. But she still needs to work on the voice...
