I loved it. I knew it would be great. Her voice was great. The songs were awesome. The high points for me were Rhiannon, Edge of Seventeen, Gold Dust Woman, Dreams, Beauty and The Beast and Stand Back.

I was once again enchanted.

I originally had not planned on attending this show, but I was able to get to Vegas by 4 Wednesday afternoon, so I promptly went to Caesar's and got a ticket.

I was somewhat disappointed in the setlist. I knew there would be the "standards" that Stevie always does, but because of the venue and uniqueness of these shows I was expecting somewhat of a different fare.

While it was refreshing to hear "If Anyone Falls", "How Still My Love" and "Beauty and the Beast", these were all songs Stevie has performed throughout the 80's. I was hoping to hear at least one "never before performed" song, kind of like what she pulled out for the Enchanted shows. And I was really surprised she didn't do Leather and Lace, I thought she might do that in anticipation (and warming up for) the gigs with Henley.

The videos and graphics were a little lackluster for me. I'm sure they took a lot of planning on someone's part, but from her music videos, she only pulled out a tiny clip of I Can't Wait in the very beginning when she was walking out, and the same 15 seconds of the If Anyone Falls video played over and over and over throughout the entire song. I was surprised there wasn't more of that and some live performance video, she could have pulled bunches from the 1981 video for sure. But on the other side, I'm thankful there was no Red Rocks footage shown.

Now, enough about what "wasn't", and more about what was. I thought she did a good job performing the songs she chose. She didn't move about the stage all that much and no twirling during Stand Back or GDW this night (I was disappointed).

I did think Beauty and the Beast was the highlight of the show though. At first I thought the film clips were a little bizarre, but after getting into the song, I could definitely see where Stevie was coming from. Stevie really put a lot of feeling and emotion into this song and it really hit me pretty deeply. This song made the entire trip worth it for me and made it a night to remember. So, all in all, I enjoyed the show, as I always do. And now I knew what to expect when I went to Friday's show.

May 11th Row 4 (DD) Orch 5: Upon Wednesday night all involved w/ our group were raving at what a show Tuesday night was, and how could it get any better than this? What a difference a night makes as far as Stevie's assurance, and her beginning to relax. She seemed more at ease with the stage, the band, and most all the audience. She made little banter between songs, and just seemed to be smiling and loving it this night. I made it up to the stage this night as well, and got to shake hands w/ Stevie, though it was the anonymous sort of handshake. No way in hell could she have seen were the hand belonged. Still, a moment. That night we met Sharon, and were able to get a bag to her that we had all pitched in and bought for her. Sharon was like OMG, Stevie will love this. Then we posed for some pics w/ her, but I was cut off in every shot. =0( Oh well, I made up for it later!!!!!

I attended the second show of this four night stand. And my comments fairly parallel the previous person's thoughts.

Stevie looked very well and seemed to be really enjoying herself. She appeared to move ok, but although fairly passionate, she didn't "dance" at all-- not even during the break in Stand Back. I don't know if she was nervous about the "slanted" stage, but she never really moved much, but she looked good and in good health-- not frail/old seeming at all.

As previously mentioned, Stevie herself had professed to really releasing her "inner Vegas", and that didn't happen. It was the same old costumes for the most part. She didn't "work the stage" and she also had promised the use of her actual concept videos as the backdrop and was doing "all of her video songs". I don't know about you, but to me that said she would sing a large % of:

1. Gypsy
2. Stand Back
3. If Anyone Falls
4. Talk To Me
5. I Can't Wait
6. Seven Wonders
7. Rooms On Fire
8. Every Day
9. Sorcerer

Of this list, she sang Stand Back, If Anyone Falls, and Sorcerer. She NEVER used any videos except for one scene from If Anyone Falls. The graphics were Ok, but nothing special and seeing that one dove during the 10 minute "Edge Of Seventeen", I was thinking...man, the creative team for this could have done so much more.

They had all commented on how huge the stage was (bigger than stadium stages), so to compensate, it looked like the crowded the entire band at the very front, so the actual space where Stevie could dance was rather small.

Stevie sounded very strong. Her voice was excellent. I think the vocal coach decision was wise.

The set list was very short I thought.
4 Fleetwood Mac songs: Rhiannon, Landside, Dreams, Gold Dust Woman (always the same)
4 Bella Donna
4 Wild Heart
2 Shangri-La
1 Tom Petty Cover

Strange to completely ignore 3 solo records. Granted, she obviously chose to sing songs for the 3 strongest records.

I don't want to sound too critical, because the show was good. I was the real fan in my group that went, and the others enjoyed it. But I guess my real issue is, it was more of a typical show, and for not really touring behind anything, I was expecting more of a "celebration of hits", some glam, since it was only 4 nights, some length. It was funny she made a comment before "If Anyone Falls" that it was a surprise and she was sorta nervous like how would it be received. I was thinking, "Stevie this was a HIT and with a good video with tons of rotation. However, "Outside The Rain" "How Still My Love" and "I Need To Know" are totally unknown. I didn't understand that. Speaking of "I Need To Know"-- please.....stop it. To not sing:
1. Sara
2. Gypsy
3. Leather and Lace
4. After The Glitter Fades
5. Nightbird
6. Talk To Me
7. Rooms On Fire
and to sing an old "standby" TP song. I would have so preferred one of HER songs. And the length of the show, barely qualified it for a full length concert. Had she dropped even one song, I think she would receive bad press for the length.

All in all, it was a very good show. I have seen her now 19 times with the mac and without, skinny, chunky, and fat, drugged out, sober, zombied etc. etc. I think she is great, I will always support her, and I don't mean to be too critical, but now that I'm 38 with 3 kids, and am paying some cha-ching, yes, I do expect a lot, and I think she could have delivered more.

On an interesting note, I stayed one floor below Lori Nicks, and actually rode in the elevator with her after the first night. We chatted and she was very sweet and gracious and looked HOT. Great time in Vegas as well. If anyone reads this and is still there...check out Momma Mia. Fantastic.

Stevie sang very well and looked good. However, the show was short in length and did not live up to it's billing as Stevie did not take the mic off the stand and move to the sides of the stage (as she stated she would), nor were there any exceptional Vegas show type choreographics. There was just a simple large screen backdrop on which they showed some special effects, movie clips or a close up of Stevie singing.

This show and the one on opening night were just short regular concerts with a few rare songs added. But at least Stevie sang very very well and with much emotion, the saving grace to this otherwise bland event.
