5 BEING THE BEST

This was a good show. The crowd was very much into the show from start to finish.
This show had an opening act that played from 750-815. Let's just say had she not played, Don would have had time to do his encores and the show would have been even better than what it was.
Stevie and Don rocked the house. Don was a little more talkative than he was in Philly. Stevie was amazing as ever. She seemed to be a little more into the music than what she was the night before.
This venue was a great venue to watch a show, but it's a nightmare parking. TERRIBLE. But I'd gladly sit in the parking lot not moving for an hour to see these 2 play again.
Can't wait for Hershey.

A fantastic night! Here are some details...
1. Desperado and End Of The Innocence dropped.
2. SDMHA moved to between GDW and TCD.
3. When introducing CD, Stevie said that she had been a BR fan for a while and decide she wanted do this song of hers in concert. She said that Don must have really good taste in music because he agreed with her. (everyone laughed) Stevie also said that Bonnie wrote the song for her father.
4. In Don's opening speech at the beginning of his set, he said that used to be nervous about playing at the PNC venue because of all of the State troopers manning the place. (lots of cackles from the boomers)
5. When introducing Carlos, Stevie intimated that they were extremely close and that he had helped through a rough time. She said something like "he helped me to stand when I couldn't stand".
6. Security wouldn't let anyone move up during Edge -- but thankfully my side seat was positioned right where Stevie was walking. She walked along the side a bit so if you were sitting in the first 8 rows or so on the sides you got to see her up close (and maybe even shake her hand like I did!). Ironically if you were seated in the middle you probably couldn't move up at all (ironically cos that's usually a place to be).
7. GDW was the highlight of the night for me. Her and Don traded lines and danced a long slow dance at the end. I must say he was very handsome and debonair in his long black topcoat.
8. My guess is that I saw the same BATB video setup that everyone saw in Vegas. She looked more gorgeous in that outfit than I have ever seen her. My mouth was agape with how great she looked! I guess I can now say I fall with the camp that didn't like the video presentation of the song. But her? OMG she was so beautiful!
9. Loved her duets with Don particularly Last Worthless Evening. He's no Lindsey Buckingham but for all of the Henley bashers- go see this show and you will be won over. He is one hell of an entertainer -- and that voice is very sexy. Heart Of The Matter brought tears to my eyes.
10. Crowd was mixed overall but in the orchestra area it was a majority of Stevie fans. There were plenty of Eagles T-Shirts but many more for Stevie. Every time she was introduced it was like an earthquake.
11. That new Stevie hat they are selling with the yellow triangle is really cool. Not sure what the significance is of the triangle but it's a cool hat. Not a fan of the Stevie/Don white t-shirt but I did like the gray sweatshirt. Definitely bring money!
12. A side funny note was that I saw all of these fans listening to the concert with their cellphones in the air. Oddball taping method but hey if it works -- work it! It was weird how security got mad at these same people when they saw them taking pictures but were oblivious to the fact that they were using the phones to tape the show!
13. I have never seen so many people tailgating at a Stevie show in my life. I had fun with my friends and can't wait til JB on Friday.
14. Regarding Frank's comments about BATB slowing down the set -- he's right. But given the time it must take for her to get into that BATB outfit plus the fact that the audience was worn out from SB it was actually a welcome break.
The best way to sum up this show is to call it a real sentimental journey. There were no new solo albums to promote and no agenda.
It was simply the two best front people of the two best bands on stage together in a kind of musical kismet. In a word...magic.

I am on a great high right now. What a friggin great show!
Stevie looked fantastic. She even wore pants during Don's set.
Two rock and roll hall of famers at their best and singing each other's songs. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! The place was SRO with equal Don and Stevie fans but Stevie's set was longer and better!
To all the doubters about Stevie and Don being a good pair! Just forget it. These two were phenomenal together and Stevie showed much more energy than when she sings with Lindsey.
And they sang together at center stage the whole time. No sense of competition like during the FM shows. They were true duets.
Don opened with "The Genie," an ok upbeat song from Inside Job, his last (2000) solo LP.
Then as if to get is ready for the witchy woman herself he did a great "Witchy Woman" and a great cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" (later coverered by CCR).
Then out came Stevie for an incredible "Hotel California," she even sang the great "spirit here since 1969" line. She sounded great--rocked and sang right in Don's face. Awesome!
Then they dueted on "New York Minute" and "The Last Worthless Evening." Great soulful performances. She left to tumultuous applause and Don did a beautiful "Heart of the Matter" and totally rocking "Life in the Fast Lane" and "Dirty Laundry."
He ended early with the ok "All She Wants to do is Dance."
The whole Bootylicious track and the new discofied Dreams preceded Stevie coming out to a standing-only crowd for a riveting "Outside the Rain," during which she screamed the "look in my eyes" part.
Then Dreams into the piano intro to a rocking "Rhiannon," in which she twirled much more than during FM SYW tour.
"Enchanted" then into "Gold Dust" with Don on some of the verses parts and the chorus.
Then they dueted on a great "Stop Dragging" where she looked at pointed at him just like in the video w TP.
Then a beautiful duet on a Bonnie Raitt track "Circle Dance." They both said she was a big influence on them. Funny, sicne one of the first reviews of the white album I ever read in the 70s said Stevie sounded like Bonnie.
Then a rocking Stand Back with 30 seconds of mad twirling.
The set lost a little momentum with Beauty and the Beast, in which she sounded great, but it was a little hokey coming during such a rocking show where she proved that she is the best female rocker ever (possible exception Janis--though Janis never wrote songs like Tina Turner, who never sang as great as Stevie anyway). The French BATB film looked surreal on the big screen at the top of the stage. Like a rock video from the silent movie era. Stevie wore silly head gear with hair in a bun.
Then an amazing Edge of 17, with the call of the nightbird, when doves cry and some new words that I forget now.
Amazing numbers of fans giving her stuff and handshaking.
Then off stage--back for amazing "Leather and Lace" encore, the first time I ever saw Stevie do this song on stage and I've seen her 39 times. It sounded just like the record.
Whoever said she shouldnt consider Desperado is wrong, because her voice was in the best shape I've ever heard and Don was in fine form.
But instead of Dsperado, the first time I've ever seen Don when he didn't do it, they did Roger McGuinn's "So You Wanna Be a Rock and Roll Star." What a great performance. They should've filmed it cause it was two of rock's best singers rocking out full tilt. The place was going crazy--the words were on the screen and everyone was singing along.
Great evening. Well worth every penny. Stevie has never been this hot.
She continues to be an entity way beyond just Fleetwood Mac.
Long Live Rock's Queen. Amen Goodnight.

The second night of the Gold Dust tour was just as amazing as opening night.
Although Don DID NOT do his encores due to time it was a great show. Stop Draggin' My Heart Around changed in the set list between Gold Dust Woman and Circle Dance. The PNC was pretty packed with fans. This is the second year in a row Stevie has performed here. Last year she performed there with Fleetwood Mac. So for the second year in a row people heard Dreams, Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman and Stand Back there. A great night for all.
