5 BEING THE BEST

That show was awesome! I have been a Mac fan ever since I was a child, and in fact am still considered a child by many, I am 14 years old, turning 15, and I absolutely love The Mac. I took my mother for Mother's Day, and my friend tagged along...but whether it was Mothers Day or not, I was going! I paid for my Mom's ticket, and my ticket with all the money I had saved up, I even had to borrow a little from my brother, but that was only so I would have enough money for a T-Shirt! I heard they are going back on tour, or at least extending the tour which is great!

The friend I went with to the concert is considering taking her dad for Father's Day, and the three of us will go! I can't wait, if they play anywhere in NY I am going, and if they don't hit NY again, I'll definitely make it somewhere to see them! Seeing, hearing Stevie sing and twirl to Rhiannon and Gold Dust Woman was just "AWESOME". Also hearing Silver Springs and Bleed To Love Her was great! I missed Chris though. I love the song Everywhere, and I am glad my mom has The Chain CD, and also the record. That is one of my faves. I do like the new music The Mac has produced, especially Illume. I just like that song as a whole, overall I was very pleased with their performance, and hope they are still around 20 years from now, so when I have children, they too can appreciate the Mac's great old music!

Lets just say, The Mac are back in excellent form. From the opening song The Chain to the last one Goodbye baby they rocked Buffalo!.It was a shame that Christine McVie wasn't there cause the band rocked on without her. Yes her songs were missed and her vocals also, but the band still went on without her. Lindsey was just the mad man he always could be beating his guitar to a pulp. He was just so amazing and he broke string after string. He did have a hard time starting World Turning with electrical problems but once he got started he jammed! John was just the quiet one. He played his guitar just as he did in all the past shows in the background. Mr. Fleetwood who just rocked the house with those drums and his crazy EYES. He looked like he enjoyed what he was doing and I thank him for bringing the Mac to our town!. As for Stevie, what can I say? She is the Gold Dust Woman, her voice is like velvet to me. I don't think there wasn't a time that I didn't have goose-bumps when she sang and when she sang Beautiful Child it brought tears to my eyes. She will always be my inspiration I just love her! Thank you Fleetwood Mac for coming to our city. You made everyones night.

The show get's a 5++++++++ out of 5

First of all this was my very first concert of any kind, Fleetwood Mac or anyone. And it was the best First concert anyone could ever have. When I first walked into the arena (living 3 minutes from HSBC we were one of the first few people to arrive) I was in awe. I mean i just saw the stage and was like, OMG Stevie and Mick and John and Lindsey will all be standing THERE. So this is one hour BEFORE the concert and I'm already in heaven We sat in our seats for like an hour and they came on at 8:20 and played until 10:40. Now the songs:

The Chain- This gets a special place for me just because it's THE FIRST. The first time I had ever seen Stevie, Lindsey, Mick, and John. The first song. And it was just great. Not as good as the Mirage video, but Lindsey really got into this. Especially at the end with the RUN RUN RUN part. It was a great choice for first song

Dreams- It was Dreams. Nothing special. This has NEVER been great live so why should this tour be any different. it didn't cause me any pain in my ears or anything, i didn't NOT ENJOY it or anything.

Eyes of the World- This one was VERY loud. Lindsey's Eyes Eyes were much improved from The Dance Tour, and there were no BUM BUM BUM BUM DUM DUM DUM.

Peacekeeper- Better then all the performances on TV. We were all trying to figure out where the eagle sound came from, but no luck.

Second Hand News- This song was the best song to this point. This was a shocker. I mean when i heard this replaced RTTG, i was upset, but i never expected SHN to be this good. It was just GREAT. And Stevie joined in on the BAM BAM's

Say You Will- EHHHH, wasn't looking forward to it, and it didn't impress me. Any other new song of hers would've made me more happy. But it's my little sister's favorite song so at least she was happy.

Never Going Back Again- VERY good Stevie sings on it and she holds up her fingers.

Rhiannon- Just thinking about this gives me chills. Let me start by saying FORGET THE TODAY SHOW PERFORMANCE OF RHIANNON. The live version is MUCH different. I was really surprised when she did the "Take me like the wind baby take me like the sky hi I" since everyone said she didn't at the earlier shows. This is also the song where she changes and drops that ugly top. She wraps herself in a cape before the dreams unwind part. And she just Nailed it. I was NOT expecting her to have the energy she had. It was the exorcism to a point.

Come- This took about 2 minutes to get his guitar right. But the song was really great. You really have to see his guitar playing to appreciate it. I mean it. Nothing i write can explain what went on at that concert. His guitar playing on this was eclipsed only on I'm So Afraid.

Gypsy- This was actually quite good. In a concert of SOO MANY amazements it is very easily forgotten, but it was GOOD. Stevie gets the tambo out at the end during Lindsey's great little solo and really moves.

Big Love- This was mesmerizing, i don't know why but I had trouble breathing on this one. It was literally breathtaking

Landslide- this was another i was not LOOKING FORWARD TOO and i really dug it. This was the audience favorite. Like Small Stevie said, The audience almost drowned out Stevie. But it wasn't obnoxious like- it was just kind of uh nice. It was the concert sing a long song

Say Goodbye- It was better live then i the studio, the guitar didn't have that annoying thumping sound. But it was just a bit TOO slow.

WTWCT- This was the best new song (yes better then Come) The way Stevie sang What's The World COMING To. It was just a great energetic song. Not the dragging Say You Will, or Say Goodbye, or Goodbye Baby. Now that I think about the concert did NOT LET UP after this song. Every song was Perfection

Beautiful Child- GREAT. Really picked up at the end. This is my mom's favorite song, and I really love it too. The fact that this song ever made it to the stage was worth half the 130 dollars (OK maybe 1/4) On a side note after this song was over the people sitting next to us asked What album that song was on. I said Tusk. And they were like we HAVE to get that. And today at my mom's work, someone who was at the concert asked her the same question about BC, and they said they have to get Tusk. So it was a pleaser song

Gold Dust Woman- Greatness. I loved the way Stevie's gold shawl seemed to flow in the wind, even though this was indoors. She just nailed this song. It was by FAR better then the Dance. The only thing the dance had the was that piercing wail. This concert had the wail just not in the same way.

I'm So Afraid- WOW. Christy you will wet your pants then lick the puddle from excitement. This Dance version PALES in comparison to what i saw last night. He literally RIPPED UP HIS guitar. He did this thing where he Slaps the guitar with 2 hands. And the intro was great, the end solo was ever greater. The actual song portion of the song was amazing. Stevie on harmony ala the dance. This was the loudest song, with possibly Stand Back being louder.

Silver Springs- WOW again. I told you from WTWCT on, the WOW's don't stop. This was probably my favorite song, next to Rhiannon. The beginning was equal to the dance but the end (Which to me is all that matters) was BETTER. She repeated the lines like 10-12 times.

Tusk- Excellent. Stevie harmonized here, unlike the dance. It was great. Mick's drumming here along, with all concerned was AMAZING. This concert made me appreciate Mick even more. He is An AMAZING drummer. that something on the new album doesn't really show off, but the concert does.

Stand Back- This song went through my heart, and i mean that in a literal way. The thumping of the drums went right through me. Stevie did put alot of energy into this one. She bounced all around. And Dori: I don't think it would've been possible in boots

Go Your Own Way- Just great. This was another sing along. Not as much as Landslide, but a biggy. Again, those TV appearances are really bad impressions of what this band is doing these days. GYOW rocked the house.

World Turning- WOW. This was GREAT GREAT. I've always loved this song with Chris on vocals, but i hate to say this about Chris but it has to be said, Stevie sang the song better It was great, really.

Mick's Drum solo- this really is a seperate song. The actual DRUM solo was nice. Mick's a great drummer. And he has the this microphone thing, so he can talk to us and drum and the same time. And if anything this concert showed me how DIFFERENT Mick sounds while screaming at the top of his longs. He loosed his English accent, he has when he does interviews. He really sounded like a different guy on this song. He has so much energy, and the faces he makes, my god. My mom said her favorite part of the solo was watching his face. The vest thing was a little too weird for me. the solo was enjoyable, but i can't tell how happy i was when i saw Lindsey come back onto the stage and the band started back into World Turning. I yelled STEVIE, LINDSEY.

Don't Stop- very potent. Lots of energy. Stevie did it very well. But unlike World Turning she did not ECLIPSE Chris. This was the last of the wow's

Goodbye Baby- it was a closer, and it was a good closer, I just never really loved this song. But the fact that she dedicated it to Buffalo ( I KNOW she isn't dedicating it to any other city ) it's a grat closer, GOODBYE BABY... and I especially liked the I'LL BE WITH YOU AGAIN PART.

At the end Stevie waved to us all, and turned to our side and blew us all a kiss. My uncle said she was doing it to him, But I insisted she was doing it for me. You guys decide.

by Sarah "Small Stevie"

Definitely "popped my penguin" last night.

And as good as the Mac is on the studio albums, they are 10 times better live ...especially Lindsey. It seems like on the albums he is pretty contained, but he went crazy on stage. It was AMAZING. This was the best I have EVER heard him sound. The energy was astounding. Lindsey was all over the stage - and at one point, it looked like he was about to smash his guitar Townshend-style (to make reference to The Who while we're at it). He didn't, but the fact that it looked like it was about 2 seconds away was great. And there was only one spot where he was off-key (the beginning of "What's the World Coming To" ...but he fixed it a little before the chorus).

Mick was exactly the same as he's always been: a quality drummer with the perfect facial expressions at all times. We definitely got some good glimpses of the bug -eyes, hehe.

John was in the background the whole time, with Stevie even standing in front of him at times...while Lindsey was way off to the right side. He got some awesome bass solos (i.e. "The Chain" and "Tusk") as usual, but he pretty much stuck to the stereotype of quiet, shy John.

Last but not least, there's Stevie. Now at first I was a little worried, because I was not terribly fond of her voice on the new album...but I actually liked the way it sounded last night. Her voice had a certain edge that only sounds exceptional in a live setting like this. The classics were great (considering the only new song she did was "Say You Will")! The whole audience was singing "Landslide" with her, and for a moment I thought she was going to stop and let the audience finish for her. She looked so happy. My only complaint is that it sounded like she was really fighting to get out some of the notes in the older songs.

And they DID do "Beautiful Child," and it was amazing...there were a bunch of people in front of me waving lighters back and forth during it. Hehe.

P.S. When I make comments about being off-key, do not take it as necessarily being an awful thing. For one thing, it shows that they really are singing (unlike some acts today), because no show is perfect. It also alerts us to the fact that IT IS NOT EASY TO PERFORM LIVE. I mean, they are practically deaf up there onstage, so I commend any band who can do well live.

Rated "4.5" by John

A mild fan who considered attending my first concert and then lucked out with a free ticket at the last minute, thanks Mike & Nancy, I'm in debt to you now. I had read the previous reviews on here before attending because I wanted to get a feel for what would be in store.

Buckingham, Nicks, & Fleetwood are accomplished artists in their own right and you are given the hint of that throughout the performance. The program in Buffalo seemed to nudge you over and over again to remind you that you are there to have a good time and the program just kept building and nudging till you realized you and everyone else were having a great time of it, even the band. Yeah, Stevie might not be a whirling dervish anymore nor is the band chemically enhanced, but I'm getting older too! The people who plunked down their money for this one got their money's worth. And heck, I came out way ahead of the game and a much bigger fan.

Lindsey was incredible. From the moment he stepped out on stage he looked into the show. The rest of the band looked uneasy with themselves. It took about 30 minutes before the rest of the group caught up to Lindsey.

One major blip in the show was an equipment/sound problem with Lindsey's guitar. He looked frustrated and there was a little to much dead time. Once corrected he and the band took the show to another level.

I sat in the upper deck and sound was not that great. Bass guitar and Bass drum were overwhelming. Piano was almost not heard. Even some of the guitar work was obliterated. Needless to say the vocals were tough to hear. We were o.k. on the big hits, but on their lesser known material, had no idea what the lyrics were.

In spite of everything the choice of material was great. The energy level kept increasing, once Mick and John locked in to one another it was super. Stevie still sounds good. The band played for 2 hours and 20 minutes. Lindsey's solos were intense. My wife and I had a great time.
