5 BEING THE BEST

I have seen Stevie and/or FM 30 times since 1979. The show was great in general but there were a few things I noticed that could be better. "Beautiful Child" was so great that I only wished she tried her other great songs from "Tusk," which may be her finest moment on record. FM should bone up on a lot of their old classics (such as "Sara," "Sisters," "Blue Letter," "Monday Morning") etc. and switch around for various cities like the Stones and Dylan do. They should even rotate new ones like "Running Through the Garden" and "Destiny Rules," which we know they rehearsed but have definitely dropped from the set. I understand why they can't put them in the set everynight (I sensed discomfort from some people around me when ANY new songs were played), but they could rotate.

Stevie sounded great on her signature songs like "Gold Dust," "Landslide," "Rhiannon," and "Silver Springs," but was drowned out by the instruments during the rest of the concert. Somebody has to get the sound right. While I understand that she doesn't move like she used to when she was a lot younger, I don't understand why she doesn't talk to the audience. The only thing she said besides "Thank you" and "take good care of yourselves" at the end, was the bit about how she never thought she'd sing "Beautiful Child" in concert.

The good news is that the four of them sound and play just as great as they used to and the overall sound is better because of all the supplemental players.

"Goodbye Baby" was very moving and brought many who were walking out back to their seats. And although many people liked "Don't Stop" and it's a very positive song, I wish they would encore with a more hard rocking song. I'm not a huge Christine fan, but I was surprised when they didn't even mention her at that point.

Lindsey's guitar was amazing both loud as hell ("Come") and soft ("Never Going Back Again").

"I'm So Afraid" was so great that the whole floor section was thrusting their fists up in the air with Lindsey during the amazing guitar solo. A true rock star moment.

I have never seen them in concert, and it was amazing.

I have to give it a 4 because the lack of Christine. Stevie filled in some song lyrics, but a few of my favorite songs were missing. Other than that it was fantastic!

Sorry Stevie but LINDSEY stole the show !!!!!.....

Even though the weather was damp and dreary in A.C., The Mac warmed things up at the Boardwalk Arena at 8:30 and got things off to a great start with the obligatory opener The Chain with Lindsey doing a great part on his guitar along with John McVie.....

The Arena was packed and there were many older veterans like myself along with a crop of newer fans to keep Mac alive. Everyone was touched when Lindsey and Stevie came out holding hands and took control of things for the enjoyment of all....

Besides Gold Dust Woman & Rhiannon, Stevie rocked the house with her classic Landslide which is 20 times better than ther version done by that other group. Stevie also brought out her crowd pleasing Silver Springs, Beautiful Child, Stand Back (with gold lame shawl !), and Gypsy...

Stevie also handled the sorely missed Christine Mc Vie's vocals quite well on World Turning and Don't Stop. The Mac compensated well for her absence especially with Mick's manic drum solo's and Lindsey's fantastic guitar work on I'm So Afraid and his show stopping Big Love !

Whatever vitamins Lindsey was taking before that show should be public knowledge because he packed a LOT of power in his performance that evening that brought down the house....OH YEAHHHHHH !!!!

The Tunes off of Say You Will were well recieved as well. Stevie handled the title track like a newborn child and Lindsey brought out the full energy of Peacekeeper and What's The World Coming To with his signature stringwork. Still the Classic Mac tunes were what the crowd wanted to hear...

Mick hollered out "Are Ya Still With Me ?" and copped a comic hand pose during his solo's on Tusk along with some great background visuals featuring the USC Trojan Band....

They came out for two more encores and Stevie set off a grand finale with her Goodbye Baby which was touching but not as powerful as her earlier work....

The Highlights for me were the great people I sat with in Section 105 which was 20' from the stage , the reaction to the Old Mac favourites and cheers when Stevie camoe out with Gypsy and Stand Back...The only downer were the overpriced tour merch items and the absence of a Tour Book which EVERY group puts out no matter how long or short the tour is.....

So everything went well and I'm looking forward to their NJ Meadowlands Show at the Continental Arena on May 25th !!!! SEE YOU THERE !!!!

Fleetwood Mac was absolutely amazing! They played for over 2 hours and they put such love and energy into each song. One of the best concerts I have ever attended.

I've been to anywhere from 5-10 Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks concerts in the past 28 years, and this, by far, was THE best! Just as fine wine ages to perfection, so do these 4 (Less Christine McVie) individuals!

Stevie brought me to tears for the very first time when she sang 'Landslide'. Lindsey Buckingham has got to be the best all-around guitarist that I have ever experienced on stage (or otherwise), and Mick Fleetwood just astounds me with that vest of percussion! I was more than thrilled when his encore included that solo!

I LOVE THIS BAND!

And I have only ONE complaint (disappointment): CHRISTINE MCVIE needs to come out of retirement! She was missed greatly ~ we love the 'Songbird.'

Actually I'll give the concert an "11"!

Fleetwood Mac gets better with age, Lindsey is the most underrated guitarist ever. I think it was truly the best show I ever saw. I will see them again, mark my words. Rhiannon, Come, Second Hand News, Stand Back, Tusk, and Gold Dust Woman were my highlights. Go Stevie, Lindsey, John and Mick!!!!! Fleetwood Mac Rules 4eva!!!!

The concert was a good one. I would have liked to hear more Stevie though I think Lindsey was trying to make up for lost time.

I thought the show was great! I am a long time fan. They sang a lot of their hits. I loved the last song. It was very touching. "Landslide" was beautiful. They sounded great. Lindsey is such a great guitarist and so are the rest of them. Love Mick Fleetwood! It was fabulous. Would love to go again.

I thought the mix of songs were great. Doing songs never done before, was fresh. Lindsey's playing was excellent. I thought Nicks looked great, and doing a tune of her own, that's not done with Mac was a nice twist.

This is the second time I saw them in AC. Their shows just keep getting better!
