5 BEING THE BEST

Rated "5" by Spencer
I am a young fan... and thought I wouldn't fit in at this concert.... Even
though I had these feelings, it didn't stop my or my friends ambition to have a
great time and to hear some great music. Rated "5" by Peter Smith Show was great. High energy and interest in crowd and performance by all band members. Enthusiasm of band was so enjoyable to watch as if they were on a first big tour. I was pleased to note that the singing and playing were as good as ever, even as band members age along with me.
It was actually inspiring to see how much fun Lindsey Buckingham was having during theperformance.... at one point playing at the edge of the crowd ...later banging on Mr. Fleetwood's cymbals. I appreciated hearing songs from the new album. I am so glad that the classics were played and featured as well. Final comment....No opening band and a 2 1/2 hour concert. Could not have been better. Not one disappointment Rated "5" by Rachel The show was absolutely incredible - they sounded amazing! Rated "3.5" by Nicole Like one of the other reviewers, my seats were not in a great spot (we were nearly behind the stage!), and the songs were VERY difficult to hear at times. It was a shame-- we heard a lot of baseline, but it drowned out the words and Buckingham's fantastic guitar work. Fleetwood Mac is an incredible band-- and when I snuck from my seat to go over to the other side of the auditorium... oh hell yeah-- the sound, the energy... everything was fabulous. But truthfully, for where we were sitting the sound quality virtually ruined the concert. Voices were muddy. The drums were muddy... it was a shame. Because it looked like everyone else was having a fabulous time. I hope to see them again soon. I really think my disappointment comes purely from the seating-- but honestly, I do believe speaker sets or acoustics could have been used to help the situation. The tickets were too high priced for such bad sound. Rated "5" by Kate "Sara Scarlett" This was a knock-out show! THEY ROCKED!! I stayed away from all the message boards and reviews (as much as I could) before the concert, so I could be surprised...and, truly, I was just FLOORED at how good the band sounded last night! The opening songs hit with *amazing* energy; it felt like they definitely front-loaded the set list with some rockin' stuff! "The Chain" was flawless, and "Eyes of the World" was INCREDIBLE!! Whatever Lindsey did to re-arrange that song--opening with Mick's crazy fast drumming, especially--was total genius. "Dreams" felt like an old friend, and "Peacekeeper" was WAY better in person than on TV. Stevie looked utterly gorgeous and seemed much looser (and more smily) than she's been. At the end of "Rhiannon," she really let go--she was way into the "marching" in place (like on the Rosebud video), and she *really* screamed at the end. "Beautiful Child" was her best moment, I thought--she completely gave herself up to the song, and the last few lines were very emotional and moving. Lindsey was INSANE! Much more than when I saw FM for "The Dance," he really seemed to be having a good time and just going wacky!! During "Tusk" he hung all over John, and then "stalked" over to Stevie (who was trying to inch away) and slung an arm over her, almost bending her over. The slapping the guitar, breaking strings, bending over into the crowd to let the front row have a few strums on his guitar...LB is definitely having a GUITAR GOD moment, on this tour. It was so great to see him basking in the spotlight, and milking it! The drawbacks: The set list was a crowd-pleaser, but felt a little...predictable, for a serious fan. Don't get me wrong, the band kept up a great energy (and there weren't really any songs that I *didn't* enjoy), but I would have liked to see "Monday Morning" or "Sisters of the Moon" or almost ANY OTHER LB SONG FROM TUSK, instead of the old "I'm So Afraid," "Big Love," "Stand Back" fare. And, um, where were all the new Stevie songs??? It seemed a little lopsided, with Lindsey trotting out four (I think?) new songs alongside Stevie's two. (And don't even get me started on the fact that one of them was "Goodbye Baby"--what were they thinking???) ...And, of the new songs, "Come" didn't translate too well, IMO. (I LOVE it on the CD, but there was just so much drumming, bass, everything that it all sounded like a big, formless muddle, live.) They were so good, though, that I feel guilty complaining about anything. I just hope they'll be back around this way again soon! :) Rated "5" by Shannon It was great! I've never seen them before and was very impressed. I fell further in love with Mick Fleetwood. Rated "4.5" by Kristen "Kris24" Wow! I have been waiting a long time to see Fleetwood Mac and I was not dissapointed! This concert is in my top 3 of favorite concerts. Stevie looked beautiful and although she did not move around and dance a whole lot it was enough for me just to see her and hear her sing. My favorites were Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman & Landslide. I loved when she did the shawl thing on Gold Dust Woman. She did sound great on Silver Springs & Beautiful child as well. Stand Back just rocked the house as did Go Your Own Way. The only disappointment I had was in Gypsy. It seemed slowed down and she did not sing all of the lyrics. Lindsay was amazing. I was just in awe of his solos and Mick and John were great as well. It was a night I will never forget. I want to see them again soon! Rated "5" by Freddie I got my money's worth! Had been reading all if the previous reviews and staying on top of what fans had to say. Yes, Stevie's voice is not the same as it was. But though she doesn't do the "screams" anymore, she takes it down, I actually believe her voice is stronger now. Lindsey remains the best, and most underrated lead guitar player ever! I repeat what a previous fan said, he probably woke up with sore fingers. I don't know how his finger's could have not been bleeding after the performance he gave on several songs! And Mick's drum/bongo solo was great! I felt every beat that he hit, whether on the drums or on his own chest. My seat was too high up and too far on the side of the stage, but I don't care. They gave a performance as though it were the first in the tour. Very energetic. They played their hearts out. I'll definitely be around for the next tour. I think I'll pay for floor seats next time. Oh by the way, for those fans up in my section who were just sitting .. why pay to come see a rock band if you're not going to be right up there rocking with them .. on your feet! Rated "3" by Melissa K. I will put a qualification on this... we had lousy seats... nearly behind the stage. So bad that honestly, I felt like we wasted our money because I think a lot of other people got a concert that we weren't privileged to attend, even though we were in the same building. The sound quality was horrible where we were. Some songs came through well, but "Tusk" was a muddled mess where the famous drum rhythms were ruined by the acoustics. The same happened with Fleetwood's walking drum solo. It was nice to hear such a mix of songs-- I was thrilled to hear Buckingham's solo rendition of "Big Love," which blew me away during The Dance tour. It was also nice to hear "Stand Back," even though it wasn't a Nicks solo tour. The interplay between the band members was fun to watch. My boyfriend, who is not as familiar with their music as I am, was impressed by the energy of Fleetwood and Buckingham... their showmanship continues to be a lot of fun on stage. The Boston Globe mentioned this in their review, and I think it is important to note-- Christine McVie was deeply missed, and it felt like even a mention of her was intentionally forgotten. I do hope I can catch them further along on the tour-- with better seats-- to have a better experience. We had a good time, but since we couldn't hear the songs too well, it did make for a bit of a disappointment. Rated "5" by Samantha They rock! What a great show...The vibe let off by the whole band together is just indescribable. Rated "5" by gypsymoon826 After seeing the show in Albany, I was skeptical that this show could be any better... Lordy was I wrong! I don't know if it was because the audience was more lively (sorry Albany) or if the Mac was just having a better night, but this show was unbelievable. Stevie was much more animated, danced MUCH more and absolutely nailed Silver Springs, Stand Back and Gold Dust Woman (3 of her weaker moments in Albany I thought). Her voice was so strong and the scream in GDW was awesome, to the point where at the end, we (the audience) almost drown her out with cheers. She held NOTHING back and it was as though we were seeing her 20-odd years ago. She did not fade back from the mike on the high notes as she did in Albany and she was so passionate, more so than I have seen her in ages. Lindsey, well he couldn't get much better. What can I say, he is simply a guitar god, and was obviously having a great time. He was so intense at points and so playful at others. He leaned out into the audience several times to let people touch him and his guitar. He didn't even mind when someone stuck a disposable camera about 4 inches from his face to take a pic. I have always been a Stevie fan, but after these two shows, I am a RABID Lindsey fan. Mick's drum solo on World Turning was much more playful and animated (if that is possible). John, who is usually more sedate than the others, was even jumping around a bit and having a ball. At the end, the four of them took a bow together, something they didn't do in Albany. In closing all I can say is GO SEE THIS BAND. Rated "5" by Lantern Even if you missed Christine McVie, there was no denying the talent and chemistry that was on display last night. They played over 2-1/2 hours and every minute was fantastic. After this tour is over, if Buckingham is not recognized as one music's all time greatest guitar players, I'll have to think those people did not watch this performance.
