5 BEING THE BEST

All in all I think I built my psyche up to a level of such grandeur before the show that FM couldn't have possibly done anything wrong. The upcoming months before the show I turned into a sort of a ghoul, disecting and cannabilizing every quirk, movement, and the ever-exaggerated body language of the band that fans posted from Ohio to Lubbock. Call me somewhat eccentric, borderline manic-depressive, but I was preparing myself for the concert of my year and no stone was to be left unturned...

By the time the limo dropped us off in front of the MGM Grand I can honestly say the laws of gravity had been altered due to the presence of a certain frosted container spelling out the name (in grandiose purple) ABSOLUT KURANT. Now how my date managed to stuff the remainder of that 750 into a purse the size of a wallet is beyond me but was I one to question it? After security failed terribly to detect the buldge in the handbag we preceeded to wait in line for another beer. Stevie look-a-likes all over the place. Upon entering the arena and having an escort to our seats I noticed for what I paid I might have as well brought the contacts because the stage was still mighty far from my "choice seats" with plenty of unclaimed VIP seating staring directly at me from the front section, almost mocking me, No problem here until I interrogated the fans around me. The responses ranged from..."My boss couldn't use these at the last minute", to "My daddy/boyfriend works sound/lighting and came across these" to "I just blew $100,000 at the black jack table---where is my free room, meal, and 4th row MAC tix?

My girlfriend and I seemed like aggressors during the opening of The Chain and didn't aknowledge the debutantes directly in front of us (oops! So sorry but I do believe beer will come out of suede). PS....band very hot for opening number. Dreams sounded awesome as well but pretty sure Stevie took it down an octave. Now as the newer material surfaced (and since I had long since memorized the setlist) Her or I were sitting down for nobody. From Peacekeeper, Say You Will, Come,...etc I truly believe we were the only 2 left standing in our section blissfully enjoying (and of course giving our best rendition of their newest work) while the catcalls and whistles errupted behind us urging for our return to the sitting formtion. Well as politely as she was capable of at the time, she informed the surrounding fickle fans that "MY BOYFRIEND PAID TOP DOLLAR FOR THESE SEATS AND I'LL BE DAMNED IF I'M NOT GETTING THE FULL EFFECTS OF THIS SHOW. More boos and whistles but we did manage to stand the entire show. I'm sure my air guitar performance during Come did wonders for the blood pressure of my fellow neighbors.

The band sounded extremely tight except for Stevie, who once again, seemed to be only going through the motions. Gold Dust Woman finally got the fire lit under her ass as well as Stand Back took full motion. Please cut out "What's the World Coming To". This track has reminded me of a band using their influence to dictate how screwed up we are. Trash Gypsy as well (didn't translate well) and Silver Springs. Add Thrown Down and Destiny Rules. I would like to hear 1 more Stevie song such as "Talk to Me". Tusk was awesome and even Mick's vesterbation solo wanted most of us to stand and cheer. Go Your On Way is a staple, and I understand but without Chris, it's just not the same, now is it? Would love to see Sara brought back on the list and GoodBye Baby....so sorry.....but eliminate it!

And it all comes down to you

The show was amazing. I know you wanted a "good" or "bad" but "good" just doesn't do it for me. I know that everyone who visits this site loves this group of people and would never say they were bad, but that's only because they ARE that good!

I've been a fan of theirs for a very long time. They sound just as good as they do on their albums. The only thing I have to complain about was the sound at the concert. To tell the truth, if you were there and had never heard their music, you wouldn've known what they were singing. This was not the groups' fault at all. I could see Stevie complaining about the sound to anyone who could have done something about it. This did not ruin the entire concert by any means. I can't begin to say how young and lively Stevie's voice was. I was blown out of the water by her voice.

Lindsey is so active with the music and Mick was awesome. John was as cool as ever keeping the songs together with his Bass-playing. I missed Christine and hoped she'd be there as a special guest but we can't win them all. As a whole, the performance that night was something I will never forget for as long as I live. NO other performer can top what I saw that night. Thank you for taking the time to read these words. God Bless to all of you in keeping Fleetwood Mac in our hearts and minds and for giving us the means to communicate with other fans. Thank you Fleetwood Mac! ~Joel

I can't put into words how great it was. It was incredible!

The concert was outstanding. The band still knows how to rock. Even with the departure of Christine McVie, the four remaining members put on a hell of show. I enjoyed the show much more than the reunion in 1997. They should never retire. Rock on Mac Attack!

The Concert was Awesome! They played alot of old stuff. Not alot of new songs but I like the old ones better anyway. Lindsey stole the show with guitar solos played like a mad man. I don't see how he made it through the whole show. Mick's goofy grin says it all. Stevie delivers with the signiture hits including Beautiful Child! The love and affection between Stevie and Lindsey was sweet. See this show it's the best one I've been to. Better than The Reunion Tour.

Damn. Thats all I can say. Im 20 years old and a new fan for life. They played for almost 3 hours straight. These guys rock. Drummer Fleetwood rules, Lindsey OMG man can he play the guitar. Stevie whoooo man she looks hot and sings up a storm. These guys rule. I think I might try to go see them again in Phoenix. Catch this show. The best concert I have been to.

This was my first Mac show and it was great. I was really happy to hear some of their old stuff. Mick's solo was great, and you could really sense that they were all out there having a good time, and not out there to collect a paycheck. Lindsey was right on tonight and at times got a little crazy. A excellent show, makes up for the concert I missed in '97.
