5 BEING THE BEST

Awesome show my highlight of the show was Beautiful Child. To me the most powerful song Stevie has to date. From the very first note there was pure silence in Oakland arena.(at least I did not here a peep)and that song will soothe me for ever. I thank my co-Stevie fan Nelda from Ok. for turning me on to that song 3 yrs. ago.I had not heard it before then and I have been a huge fan from the 70s. Thank you for just being, yes the Mac is Back:)

Sorry about the late review, but I left for vacation right after the Mac concert in Oakland. I waited for a long time for this concert and I must say I was nervous about going because of some of the negative reviews fans were giving Fleetwood Mac, but were they ever wrong! At least not at the Oakland concert. My wife and six year old daughter wore their black and gold shawls. My six year old knows most of the songs and loved the concert. My wife looked great as always and the two of them love Stevie. The Oakland concert was a 5. Stevie and Lindsey were great the whole night, and most of the crowd was into it.
Stevie Nicks may not move as often as she used to, but when she does she still has the moves and the voodoo magic!! She was awesome in Stand Back and Gold Dust Woman, and brings a ot of character to the show. Lindsey was awesome on the guitar and what a great performer. I hope the band tours again in the very near future. The Mac is back and worth every dollar!

Well after seeing two shows in Ca, I'll have to say they enjoyed playing in front of their home crowd! What I enjoyed the most they were having so much fun playing, being best friends and getting wild and crazy and digging it! Anyhow, all the music has been in our heads the first time we heard it, its so great to hear it live again. Thanks to FM for touring for the people don't stop. Take a little rest and do it again next year. Thanks so much Joel,

This is my first FM concert (I saw Stevie Oct 2001) and it was more than I could have hoped for!!!! I thought the whole night was magical, from "The Chain" to "Goodbye Baby".
I think Stevie's performances were breathtaking! I don't understand why she was put down for not spinning as much (she has gotten older) but I thought everything was perfect and she seemed to really be enjoying herself. I also thought she sounded absolutely beautiful (Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman & Silver Springs, my favorites). I thought Lindsey was spectacular and not at all about his ego. To me, he seemed to just be enjoying himself and enjoying playing the guitar with so much passion! He seemed to not even know he was there. I now have a new found respect for his guitar playing, he is awesome! John, as always was right on and Mick, crazy as he is, also was spectacular. I definitely hope there will be more to come, now that "The Mac is Back" ! I have been and always will be a huge Mac fan! And last night's show has only made it better!

Simply put...... FANTASTIC!!
You guys this show was just fantastic. I loved every minute of it. From the very powerful start of The Chain to the beautiful Goodbye Baby, this show was top notch. Ok, after seeing this show, I have no clue as to why anyone says that Stevie was not into this show. She was amazing the whole time, people just need to get over the fact that maybe she doesn't go crazy as much on the stage as she used to. Trust me, she is definitely into it and great to watch. Oh, lets not forget her voice, it was incredibly powerful and sweet. Now we can't forget Lindsey! He was incredible!!! I mean it, his guitar playing and intensity to the show was sooo great to see for a fan. He puts all of his energy into it and goes a little nuts, but hey, it was all good to see!! Plus, Mick and his drum solo were fun to watch, he just has a great presence on the stage, very into it. Oh, John always out of the spot light was on cue and played a great bass, well, then again he always does. OK, song by song!
-The Chain- Great, very powerful music and vocals, i love this song and it was a great opener for this show, or really any show!!
-Dreams- Very good! I thought that Stevie sounded great on this song and added some nice touches with the live versions, not large, but nice!
-Eyes of the World- Not really too familiar by this song, but i thought that it had so much energy and was great to see live.
-Peacekeeper- I love this song on the album and i thought that it was performed wonderfully live, Lindsey was great on this song.
-Second Hand News- AWESOME!!! This song was one of the highlights for me. It started off with so much energy and and remained throughout the whole song, people were into it from the start. They sounded great harmonizing with each other, it was really really really good!!!
-Say You Will- So GOOD! Not too many people knew this one before, but half way though the yall knew the chorus and were singin it loud, Stevie sang very strongly, i think it was better that the album version!
-Never Goin Back Again- Good song, i would have liked if it wasn't made slower in the concert, but always nice to hear.
-Rhiannon- AMAZING!!!! I loved this song, i had heard reviews of people saying that Stevie wasn't into this song that much, oooo but she was! It was so good and at the end wit the dreams unwind stuff she got rollin into it!! It was sooo powerful it gave me chills, way better than The Dance version!!!
-Come- Lindsey is a crazy man!! He was great on this song, he was soo good. I mean he can play a guitar, I loved it!
-Gypsy- Nice rendition, I wasn't blown away, but i don't think that this song is really a song to blow anyone away in concert, its always good, everyone loves it, and the video was cool to watch in the background. Cant be without this song.
-Big Love- Again Lindsey was great, very good guitar here, just as good as The Dance album, and you are actually there!!
-Landslide- Beautiful!!! Everyone knew it and everyone was singing it, it was really cool to see. Stevie sounded really great on this song, no one else should sing it but her!
-Say Goodbye- Not one of my favorite songs on the album, but it was still nice to see, could have liked Miranda instead, but what can ya do.
-WTWCT- Slower start... but then once the chorus showed up it got going and was such a good song to see performed live.
-Beautiful Child- Very nice, very sweet, and very beautiful. Stevie sounded exceptional on this song, especially at the end of this, she was very into it. I loved this song before and feel very privileged to hear it live.
-Gold Dust Woman- SO POWERFUL!!!! WOW, Stevie was on fire once this song started up. It was totally one of the highlights of the show, she was amazing here. This song is better live than on the album and that is saying a lot!!!
-I'm So Afraid- Such a great guitar solo!! Lindsey was awesome once again, and they sounded great when they sand together!
-Silver Springs- After The Dance everyone fell in love with this song and there is a reason for that, its great!! Stevie sand it soo powerfully, especially at the end with the never get always!
-Tusk- Rockin song!!! It is always good, may have been nicer if the band was really there, but other than that it was really really good!
-STAND BACK- WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Another highlight for me!!! This song kicked a** in a big way! Stevie was way into this one and no one could ever say she was 55 or 25, she spun like crazy danced up a storm. I just love her, she was great here, I'll never forget this one!!
-Go Your Own Way- Always great, it got everyone up and dancing and singing, Lindsey was playing a great guitar and so were the fans that he let play on it in the front row, really cool.
-World Turning- Very intense, very powerful, and very rockin!! They sang it great and rocked out. Mick was fantastic!
-Don't Stop- Such a fun song to hear, everyone knew it, everyone sung it, and it was great.
-Goodbye Baby- Nice slow closing song, very peaceful, but its too bad that lots of people left not knowing there was a second encore. Could have had Sara instead, but it was nice.
Well, there ya have it my very long review of this show. It was really great though and if you haven't seen it yet, you should try because it is really that good, i wouldn't write this much if it wasn't.
As Mick says at the end...."THE MAC IS BACK!!!!!"

Last night's show in Oakland California was fantastic. I previously saw FM on the Dance tour and the Tango in the Night Tour and enjoyed those shows (particularly the Dance tour) but this one was the best.
Some highlights in my opinion were Gold Dust Woman (people are right about this performance of GDW being superior to past performances), Stand Back (again better than what I had heard live previously), Say Goodbye, World Turning (Stevie handles Christine's vocals very well on this song, making it sound almost like a Buckingham Nicks track), Second Hand News, Eyes of the World (Stevie's harmonies were great on both SHN and EOTW), Never Going Back Again (With Drums and Bass and Stevie), Say You Will (Stevie looks like she really enjoys singing this new one) and What's the World Coming to (sounded very good live). Also, I loved the intimate performance of Beautiful Child.
Also, while Rhiannon did not match the version on the FM Live Album it was sung more forcibly than what I have heard in years-- much better than the Dance Version. Gypsy was also strong--in fact, this may have been the first time I have heard Gypsy live and really liked it (the studio version has always been one of my favorite FM tracks, I just never really liked it live)
In fact, Stevie sounded great. I thought she would strategically avoid more high notes than she did. Indeed she only avoided such notes on a handful of occasions. And when she did avoid such notes, she did so skillfully so as not to disrupt the melody.
Having finally seen the show I wish people would shut up (I mean that in the most polite sense possible) about Stevie not having energy or Lindsey allegedly flaunting his guitar skills so as to massage his ego. While not running around, Stevie's energy level was perfectly appropriate. She was being herself. She was CLEARLY enjoying herself. She SMILED a lot. And most importantly of all, she SOUNDED TERRIFIC. It is true that she moves more towards the end with songs like stand back (the twirling was great to see and the crowd loved it), but that is not to say, by any means, that she is lethargic at any time. On the contrary, she was fantastic.
With regard to Lindsey, he was equally impressive. I do not think that he was overly "showy" at all. In fact, I thought the entire show was very tasteful.
Even Mick's drum solo (and I dislike drum solos and never really liked his vest routine) was much more tasteful and enjoyable for me than in the past (again, this is one element of FM shows that I have always felt I could do without). This time, I may have actually enjoyed it.
So in summary I loved it. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have heard more of Stevie's material off of Say You Will. However, most of the crowd of course wants to hear familiar material. My other thought is that many of us, ie their devoted fans, are too critical! I appreciate all of the knowledgeable and thoughtful comments that are made here (indeed the great majority of it is truly constructive criticism), but after seeing the show, I am thinking what more do we want? Sure, we complain about the set list not being as diverse as it could be (I am guilty of such at times as one may note). But the reality is that the set list will never please everyone. They have put together a fantastic, tasteful show and sound terrific. Let's all enjoy it while we can. And I know most of are!!!
I mention some of this because on my way to the show I thought (based on what I have read) I might be seeing a highly bored, perhaps partially comatose Stevie Nicks and egomaniacal tyrannical Lindsey Buckingham. That was not the case at all!!
They Were Both Terrific.
Perhaps the quality of the show is best illustrated by a comment my concert buddy made afterward, namely that HE "felt the urge to bleach [HIS] hair out and twirl in a shawl." True, there is a lot to draw from such a remark and there are many potential psychological ramifications to analyze. But such a comment is also an indisputable sign of a very good Fleetwood Mac show indeed.

An awesome performance by Fleetwood Mac! It was great to see Lindsey put his heart and soul into playing his guitar. He is still a rocker! As for Stevie, overall, she sang well but her microphone appeared to have some problems for the first several songs as her voice drowned in and out. Stevie also had several costume changes and, of course, she did her classic flailing (so did the woman sitting/standing next to me but hers was annoying). Lastly, Mick was excellent on drums and percussions, especially his solo. Kudos to him! Overall, a very entertaining concert (although without Christine).
