5 BEING THE BEST

This was my first chance to get to see FM in concert. I thought I would be satisfied just to be able to see them once in concert but now I am afraid I am hooked and dying to see them again. The entire night was awesome. The concert started at 8:30 and lasted for 2.5 hours. They opened with The Chain and ended with Goodbye Baby. In between they entertained us with a collection of their greatest oldies and about 5 songs from their new album. It was great they way they all interacted with each other on stage.
Stevie was beautiful & magical as usual and seemed to really come alive once she sang Gold Dust Woman. Lindsey rocked the entire night & broke the strings on his guitar at least twice during the concert. John was awesome as well & I thought it was great when Lindsey went over & leaned on John's shoulder while John jammed away. And Mick - what an awesome solo drum performance. He went crazy playing his drum vest. It was great and the entire audience was clapping in rhythem and responding to his calls out to the crowd. I clapped so hard and for so long my hands were stinging.
I have always been fascinated by Stevie and her music, but after seeing them all together and getting to see each of their talents first hand, I have to say that I am in awe of each of them. It is hard to pick a favorite song for the night but I would have to say that I was thrilled to get to hear Second Hand News and Stand Back (the crowd went crazy during this one). I was also glad that I had not left early because they came out for a second encore and Stevie sang Goodbye Baby. Thanks to my hubby for making this dream of mine come true and for listening to me ramble on and on about them. I haven't quit talking about it since I've been back and thanks to the MAC - they are definitely BACK!

The only thing that kept this show from being a perfect 5 is the 2 times during the concert that there were audio problems. Somebody's mic was giving too much feedback and there was a loud squeal. Other than that it was AWESOME. The parking at the Coliseum was a little hectic but once I was inside I didn't care. Concert didn't start till 8:30 (scheduled for 8:00) but that was ok because I was out in the parking lot stuck in traffic. Opened with The Chain. AWESOME!!!! Never Going Back Again was incredible. I can honestly say that I have never seen anyone play the guitar like Lindsey Buckingham. He's a genius. Definitely would go see it again. They had not one, not two, but three encores.

Disappointed a bit that C.McV isn't there to complete the band from the 70's - 80's era. However, the band was in top form. Two encores. They played about 2 1/2 hours. They performed 3 or 4 tunes from the new LP. Stevie sounds better than ever. She absolutely peaked with her performances of Landslide (sounded so good my eyes teared up) and Beautiful Child. Mick's solos were awesome. Lindsey's guitar work rocked the place. You could feel John's bass in your chest. We loved every minute of it. I wish I was in Atlanta tonight seeing them again. They started about 30 minutes late, which I'm sure was for all the fans still trying to get into the arena... at 8pm only half the arena was seated (traffic was heavy).
